The Plot :

Famous in her own lifetime, the star had to cope with the impossible obstacles which crowded in upon her: the stunned crowds, the marvelling fans, the miserable detractors, the vindictive rivals. Her solitude grew at every turn like some sort of hell on earth. This is what gave me the idea of this Callas at her wits’ end, unbelievably wilful but totally dependent on others. The text was written on the inspiration of the moment. Like Callas herself, it reduces you to laughter and to tears.
